A B O U T
A medium-sized tapestry woven with unbleached linen, creamy cotton and grey-green wool on a cotton warp.
Contrast is created through setting very fine cotton and wool weft against the thicker linen. Colour-blending techniques are used to mix the cotton and wool together, forming an ebb and flow of colour, with dashes of cream and grey-green running through. These sections of cotton and wool gradually decrease further up the tapestry, with solid blocks of linen building up like rock formations.
This design is inspired by the wild coast of Pembrokeshire in Wales, and by the movement of sea fog over the hills and valleys.
This piece is mounted on thick mountboard, front and back.
