A B O U T
A small tapestry woven on a 1976 Harris floor loom, with rug wool in teal, peach, pink, lilac-grey, cream and navy on a cotton warp.
Each triangle is woven one at a time, building from rows of smaller triangles into larger ones. “Pick-and-pick” technique is used to create vertical lines running up the warp, and narrow bands of different wefts help break up pure fields of colour.
This design explores different tapestry weaving techniques and the interlocking of separate shapes to create an abstract & dreamlike landscape.
This piece is mounted on thick mountboard, front and back.
